Last week, we saw some great games across the league. One of those was not the Sunday nightcap in which the Saints dominated the Buccaneers. However, out of five bets I called, the one on the Buccaneers (-4.5) was the only one not to hit (and coincidentally the only one I did not put money on). This week. I’m definitely less confident, so I may put money on even less games. Let’s get into Week 10’s best bets, a week highlighted by more late games than early games and some intriguing matchups between young quarterbacks.
Last Week: 4–1
All-Time: 4–1
Disclaimer: These are merely suggestions and have no guarantee of hitting. Gamble responsibly.
1. Will Fuller o52.5 Receiving Yds at CLE, 1:00 P.M. EST
Although another rainy forecast for Cleveland, I see Deshaun Watson coming out firing. Will Fuller will almost definitely be a part of that passing attack. With David Johnson hurt and the team disappointing this year, I think they take some risks offensively, which leads to some solid output from Will Fuller.
2. TB at CAR u50.5, 1:00 P.M. EST
Tampa Bay may be fired up after that big loss against New Orleans, but I do not see this game reaching 51 points. The Buccaneers did not get in until 11:00 P.M. on Saturday to a plane’s mechanical issue, so they certainly will not be 100% with their usual routine. This will definitely impact scoring, as will Christian McCaffrey’s absence. Last week, they were able to put up an impressive 31 points on the road against Kansas City, but against this vaulted Tampa Bay defense, I would not feel confident about a repeat of that performance.
3. SEA (+2.5) at LAR, 4:25 P.M. EST
The Rams are favored in this one, but there is no one I’d hate to face more than an angry Russell Wilson. I think he’ll have a big day, leading to a win over the unconvincing Rams. The Dolphins’ thrashing of the Rams makes me somewhat surprised with the line here, as the Rams have only beat the entire NFC East and the Bears. Will certainly be an interesting game, but this line definitely has me leaning Seattle.
4. Ben Roethlisberger o1.5 Passing TDs vs. CIN, 4:25 P.M. EST
Ben Roethlisberger has had 2+ passing TDs in all but one game this year (the Steelers’ 38–7 victory against Cleveland), and I think this Bengals’ defense won’t be able to keep up. With Joe Mixon out, the Steelers should be able to control the ball more than otherwise. Pittsburgh is also quick to abandon the run if the passing game is working, so I think that may happen here. I really do not believe the Steelers’ narrow win last week is a reason for concern, as Mike Tomlin should certainly knock the team into form.
5. LAC (+1.5) at MIA, 4:05 P.M. EST
The Chargers have lost some brutal games, most recently a heartbreaker against the Raiders in L.A.. I do think that this is the week they get their third win after these embarrassing losses, the last three of which had their fate sealed on the last play of each game. The Dolphins are a little too confident in my opinion, and their inexperience will show here. In a home game, they might get a little too comfortable. Per usual, I expect Justin Herbert to sling it, but I do not think Tua will be able to keep up if the Chargers jump out to an early lead. Remember, last week, the Dolphins went up 7–0 after a strip sack returned for a touchdown. If Tua does not get that kind of help defensively, can he win a game like this one?
Same Game Parlay of the Week: LAC at MIA, 4:05 P.M. EST (5–Way, +4250)
- Joshua Kelley Any Time TD Scorer
- Justin Herbert o274.5 Passing Yds
- Tua Tagovailoa o17.5 Rushing Yds
- o13.5 (4Q total)
- Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5, alternate spread)
Last Week: 0–1
All-Time: 0–1
This is definitely an offensive-heavy bet, but I feel somewhat comfortable in it. The odds are good (much better than last week’s,) and if this is as good a game as many predict, this could very well cash. Big game from Herbert, a Kelley touchdown, a big Tua run, a high scoring fourth quarter and the Chargers winning by at least a field goal. And of course, it’s a rematch of the infamous “Epic in Miami.” I could see it happening. As I said last week, these are just for fun. These are parlays, I would be surprised if I hit one all year. With that said, enjoy Week 10 and the Masters!
